An Oblivious, Decadent Society, You Say?

An interesting read list:
A complete list of things caused by global warming
You might even be ruining the planet while you are reading this!...(laugh)

Be sure and read Bjorn Lomborg's Revealing Commentary:
Europe's dirty little secret on global warming!
"Even if everyone had participated and continued to stick to Kyoto's ever more stringent commitments, it would have had virtually no environmental effect: The treaty's effect on temperature would not have been measurable by mid-century and would only have postponed warming by five years in the 21st century. Nonetheless, the cost would have been anything but trivial - an estimated $180 billion per year." Read more!

Sarkozy: A Roll-call for French Culture

Whatever persists in the consciousness of man... is sure to manifest.
For the first time in the 'most memorable' of history, we see the largest country in Asia amidst abundance and financial stability… We see India with much deserved opportunity… And now after many centuries…
France might very well gain... a Father.
Nicolas Sarkozy's policies change direction for France, as they prioritize in favor of 'the elderly ', and create a non-taxable student work... And Sarkozy challenges with honesty, the true issues of immigration policies which have led to a rapid deculturalization of France! #
“What is necessary, is to explain our identity and our values to new-comers... By saying, 'I respect your identity, but you respect ours.”
And, addressing the rising and 'out-of-control' immigration policies...
“If you give papers to all the families which have a child in a school, you create a die of immigration which you do not control any more”, he explains. “The fact of being a good pupil is not a sufficient criterion 'to remain in France'.”
Meanwhile... as 'Socialists' use appeasement and the Nation's Democracy, to prop-up failed immigration policies; they stand to broaden poor suburban neighborhoods...They've encouraged angry rioters and mobs to revolt... yet they've not the ability to uphold the true cultural identity of France...
Socialists attack Sarkozy after Paris clashes

With Sarkozy, there is light at the end of the tunnel...

Get That Plan, and We'll Vote Against it

-by Cox and Forkum…#

It makes one wonder why the left is all over us for the money needed to fight terror; by saying that these high figures take money from the poor...
Yet concerning the millions of terrorist attacks..
They calculate our "losses by Terrorists"... with figures much lower…

Leaving one to question:
Are terrorists supposed to live while we die, to keep more money in the treasury? ...Get that plan, and we'll vote against it.

Sovereignty or Secrecy: Strait of Hormuz

The good news? Through the ciaos, the destabilizations, & continual scrutiny...
"Iraq is beginning to Command its place as a Sovereign Nation."#

Concerning the 15 captured soldiers:
Hochiyar Zebari (Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Baghdad) makes it perfectly clear to the Iranians:
"They operated within multinational forces with the agreement of the Iraqi government and under the Council Resolutions of safety of UNO.” “The minister asked for the immediate release of the prisoners and a reasonable solution with this business."
Fox reports: "Britain is in a very difficult situation, and this won't be settled easily." # "They have to look at what is the least-worst option."
But it is not a secret that 26 Arab Nations in oil regions, hold pact to defend Islam... as a priority. Today: Pakistan's Senior MMA leader, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed said:
"If US forces attacked Iran, it would be considered an assault on Pakistan and Islam. Addressing a seminar on Khursheed Gillani in connection with his sixth death anniversary at Hamdard Hall he said: "US forces are trying to suppress Islamic forces in the world, and were planning to attack Iran...The attack on another Islamic country would be considered a direct assault on Pakistan and Islam."
But...Is there a greater secret of the Iranian waterways, than Sovereignty?
History tells us to wonder about the importance of a restricted travel through Iranian waters... In the past (prior to advance anti radar technology) Illegal smuggling of oil from Iraq, which moved oil down the Shatt Al Arab, involved Iranian-owned and registered barges.#

Our intervention? Prevention of a Straits of Hormuz closure:
There are two distinct naval armadas: in the Persian Gulf-Arabian Sea and in the Eastern Mediterranean off the coastlines of Syria and Lebanon.
These armadas are being built-up concurrently. The Eastern Mediterranean build-up is essentially characterized by Israeli and NATO naval and ground forces. In the Persian Gulf, the naval armada is largely American with the participation of the British, Australia, and Canada. In this extensive land mass between the Eastern Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf, various military movements on the ground are occurring, including Northern Iraq and Georgia. #
Two carrier strike groups—the Eisenhower and the Stennis—are now in the Arabian Sea. One plan is for them to be relieved early in the spring, but there is worry within the military that they may be ordered to stay in the area after the new carriers arrive, according to several sources.

Among other concerns, war games have shown that the carriers could be vulnerable to swarming tactics involving large numbers of small boats, a technique that the Iranians have practiced in the past; carriers have limited maneuverability in the narrow Strait of Hormuz, off Iran’s southern coast.

UN: Diplomatic Balance of BKM

This actually went "unnoticed" yesterday...
"Ban arrived in Tel Aviv aboard a Qatar Airways flight!"
- a rare sight in Israel!

-New Update- This report just in:
Ban Visits Arafat's Grave, Meets Parents of Terrorists
I hope he is only trying to defuse this crisis...Diplomacy is listening to all concerned in a respectful way...However, terrorist acts are completely unacceptable, no matter who it is!
-Lgf says: "The United Nations: laying the foundations for another 50 years of misery."
...But we will see if Ban is trying to find a middle-ground, to end conflict.
Earlier: Some miss the (former) "Pontus-style" UN jabs... And for some, its the meddling and twisting of legal matters, in a seriously polarizing way. You won't find this with Ban Ki-Moon. He's busy listening, to develop changes...Today's example:
Reaction to the Iranian Hostage taking:
"It is up to each country to decide their borders," said Farhan Haq, a U.N. spokesman. "The United Nations does not draw borders. What the recognized borders are in that waterway is the decision of Iran and Iraq."
Note: This matter would change, in the event of HR violations.
Unfortunately, in the style of Iranian Regime: It doesn't look good.

I find it refreshing that this organization will have an opportunity to "reinvent" its intent & establish its word, amidst many changes needed.
Here are a few examples of UN changes "quasi-parliamentary" to my view... (
expressed by cfr.org)
There is a way to strengthen the Security Council, and it’s well understood by leaders in the U.N. system. Kemal Dervis, the dynamic Turkish boss of the United Nations Development Program, published a plan two years ago to abolish the Security Council vetoes and replace them with a system of weighted voting.

Prominent countries—those with large populations, large economies and large contributions to peacekeeping or other global public goods—would retain more say than less prominent ones; but no single country could hold the rest to ransom.

This would shift the Security Council from a diplomatic model to a quasi-parliamentary one: it would reward coalition-building and favor action. The rules of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund provide for weighted voting rather than vetoes, which is one reason both organizations work better than the United Nations.
#
The wisdom in Harry Truman’s closing address to the United Nations’ founding conference 62 years ago has been appreciated anew:
“We all have to recognize, no matter how great our strength, that we must deny ourselves the license to do always as we please.”

Saudi Ambassador Speaks of Diplomacy

Prince Turki al-Faisal –Jan 07; Kansas
*Media Credit: Catrina Rawson
He spoke of US and Saudi history, when Saudi Arabia was inundated with offers to deal for oil from many world powers, including England and France. But due to the lack of U.S. colonialism; the kingdom of Saudi Arabia chose to deal with the United States…

He spoke about the good relationship of Roosevelt and Aziza, and later...
The misconceptions, and the healing of broken relations... of 9-11. And as Lola Shrimplin describes the Jan. 2007 lecture at the 147th Landon (Kansas)

Prince Turki al-Faisal told an audience of 1,000:
"It is worth it every time a Saudi talks with an American."
~~~~~~~~
As former Saudi Ambassador to the US, Prince Turki never forgot the chief duty and characterization of the title of 'Diplomat.' As a result, he helped America grow and heal, when many held confusion. Amidst these difficult times we have a better understanding of the threats of terror, we both face.
Lola Shrimplin reports of Questions which were posed to the Prince, such as how to handle the violence in Iraq, and discussions of Lebanon...(to which Saudi Arabia has donated $1.1 billion in aid, and Islamic bank has donated $250 million for social services and basic infrastructure.)
And concerning Iraq…Saudi Arabia called on the Arab League to help quell the violence and keep it from spreading. The Arab League, a peace organization composed of 22 Middle Eastern countries, is also in Baghdad trying to get the different groups to overcome their differences.
The Prince replied...
"It is ultimately up to the individual states to control the violence in their own countries...We have to put our own houses in order." #
Hostages: Still Iran's "Flavor of the Day"
Update: Sailors confessed! here… They’re off to : Tehran
But what about the (IRGC's) March 18th article!
We have ability to kidnap Americans and Israelis!
“In Iraq, the Quds Force can easily get hold of American — and British — officers,” said a Jordanian intelligence source.
"In an article in Subhi Sadek, the Revolutionary Guard’s weekly paper, Reza Faker, a writer believed to have close links to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, warned that Iran would strike back."
“We’ve got the ability to capture a nice bunch of blue-eyed blond-haired officers and feed them to our fighting cocks,” he said. “Iran has enough people who can reach the heart of Europe and kidnap Americans and Israelis.” full story
Hostages, are Iran's specialty...And it looks like Iran was waiting to make a move...Now, as Iran encourages Iraqi Kurds to partition Iraq...Ahmadinejad should 'watch' Putin...
Update: From Tosted Bread:
They were captured at gun point and blinfolded. There are several
women among them! L.Vorzheva as more info.
-Britain’s positions in the Iraqi water-space
Iran's armed seize of 15 soldiers only adds to the community's:
"Mullah's with Nuke" fears.
More than a dozen British soldiers are
seized by Iranians in the Persian Gulf.
In an area where the slightest factor can trigger reaction:
Hostage fears over troops seized by Iran
Who doesn't know that:
"Ahmadinejad's Regime wants Iraq's immediate breakup, to annex the Iraqi oil at Basra. Ahmadinejad would then use the Iraqi oil to finance joint terrorist operations in the Middle East and South America by Hezbollah and Iran's own Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and the Quds force!" #
Kahala Dream for Native Hawaiians
BILLIONAIRE GIVES MANSIONS TO HOMELESS
Once listed by Forbes' as eccentric and erratic...Gensiro Kawamoto..(according to catbird-seat) says that although his business is in Tokyo; his expression of creativity, is in Hawaii...(Kahala Avenue, to be exact)... Nice Looking :)
His Hawaiian expression, is a mix of oceanfront and mauka-side properties ...(8 of 22 Kahala Avenue homes)...And his creativity is:
"To honor what native Hawaiians say...That this used to be their land," he said. "We should honor their land."
...Today, many of the homeless and those in need of affordable housing, are (in fact) Native Hawaiians...
Kawamoto's vision involves 10 lots lined up next to each other to create one huge property, which would be rented out. He wants to create a "better and fun community." He also said he wanted to promote Hawaiian and tropical gardens...
"In order to make this beautiful street, all the houses and gardens will be lit up in the evening so that people can enjoy the view at their own leisure," he said.
ps: He's not finished with his investments yet -- he's hoping to own up to 25 homes on Kahala Avenue worth up to $200 million... And that's very "creative." (^__^)
Not Just the Dancing Bears of Bulgaria...
-Posted by D.C. Worth, for Barbay (France/US)
It has been just a few years since Brigitte Bardot's Liberation of the Dancing Bears of Bulgaria... Along with many other animals, they've retired onto their €1.8-million reserve; equipped with refreshing pools to swim in, and cool caves to retire to... A greater awareness has evolved amidst a reserve as close to the wild as possible. [Sanctuary]
Sadly, in various Zoo and Circus shows of the World, exploitation of the Brown Bear still exists & remain 'unreported' ...(Below) view a heartbreaking clip, and a need to rescue more from abuse (in circus and Zoos) across the globe.
Reducing such a powerful animal to comic-begging is tragic.
Often they're still shown for the sad reason that there are no centers to shelter them... Thr method used in their training, is heartbreaking...
According to 'fondationbrigittebardot':
"After years of slavery, their behavior is hesitant and confused when it comes to exploring their new environment. Several months are necessary to break down their traumatic stress disorder and constant fear of open space. To help them, we scatter their food (fruit and vegetables mostly) all over the park." Read more.
Today, additional Laws in Europe...
"Since 1992 the brown bear benefits from the protected species appellation delivered by the Ministry of Water and Environment. Hunting, injuring, capturing, pursuing or even bothering brown bears in their natural environment are strictly forbidden...
In fact, using bears or any other wild animal for entertainment or for shows in public places is also strictly forbidden."
Fondationbrigittebardot, Europe's largest bear reserve, is a huge natural expanse in the south-west of Bulgaria...
We Await the Lord Monckton Debate!
A multi-billion dollar political rally, so powerful yet so improperly set to debate amidst the International Scientific elite... Now receives invitation to an historic 'LIVE' debate... (As unfolds absent editing models.)
The subject at crisis: 'That our effect on climate is not dangerous'
To be held (quite fittingly) at the elegant, Victorian-Gothic Library of the Oxford Museum of Natural History... All of whom recognize this as the host location for the “Great Debate” between the natural scientist T. H. Huxley and Bishop “Soapy Sam” Wilberforce; "Theory of evolution" (Darwin’s Origin of Species.)
Lord Monckton, once policy adviser to former Prime Minister of UK Margaret Thatcher, has presented a resounding challenge to Al Gore: Reads as follows: #
"The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley presents his compliments to Vice- President Albert Gore and by these presents challenges the said former Vice-President to a head-to-head, internationally-televised debate upon the question:
'That our effect on climate is not dangerous'
... To be held in the Library of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History at a date of the Vice-President's choosing."
"Forasmuch as it is His Lordship who now flings down the gauntlet to the Vice-President, it shall be the Vice-President's prerogative and right to choose his weapons by specifying the form of the Great Debate."
May the Truth win! Magna est veritas, et praevalet. God Bless America! God Save the Queen!" *Given at Carie, Rannoch, in the County of Perth, in the Kingdom of Scotland, this 14th Day of March in the Year of our Lord Two Thousand And Seven.
-SOURCE: Center for Science and Public Policy
Monckton's careful study of the substantial corpus of peer-reviewed science reveals that Mr. Gore’s film, An Inconvenient Truth, is a foofaraw of pseudo-science, exaggerations, and errors, now being peddled to innocent schoolchildren worldwide.”
Russia Vacates: Iran Builds Consortium?
Conflicting news stories about Russia's demands that Iran comply with Security Council. None seemed entirely accurate...Aside from the fact that they want to be paid...
This falls-in-line with: Ambassador Zarif Nuke Proposal
What appears to be certain, is Russia's March 20th announcement of their intent to vacate...Currently, it is thought that 2,000 Russian specialists provide expertice at the Iranian nuclear thermal power station at Bushehr...
About Russia's departure...
According to RIA Novosti's commentator Tatyana Sinitsyna:
"There is no reason to look for an answer to the question of who is to blame. As lawyers would say, this is a case of force majeure. This project is unique, and Russian engineers have had to rack their brains in search of clever technological solutions in order to complete what German engineers started over thirty years ago and then abandoned... "But who is going to appreciate this? The client is interested in results rather than PROCESS."
And why this emphasis on fuel?
"The Bushehr fuel contract was paid for long ago, and this fuel is currently at the depots of the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant, waiting to be delivered. But what is the point of sending it to the Bushehr construction site before the reactor is ready?"
"Nuclear fuel is not pistachios or almonds, and the cash-and-carry logic of the Oriental bazaar does not fit in here. Nuclear fuel rods are packed with fuel elements - tvels, in nuclear jargon. They require special handling and storage before they get into the reactor."
Ambassador Zarif Nuke Proposal to Defuse
Think of the steel reinforcements needed to build a wall around a Nation... And then think of Iran, the US, and reinforcements derived out of animosity and divided opinion...
Examining the level of 'animosities amongst leaders and loyalists' on both sides... There remain a high level of respect and friendship with those who have come from Iran as American immigrants; and those closely associated via the web… Both of which admiration is mutual...
Iranian Ambassador Javid Jarif
Former Acting Pres (58th Gen. Assembly)
As 15-nations weigh options to re-establish a firm nuclear security protocol; it has not been the Regime's isolated blame upon the US... Threats by this regime have (themselves) sparked question throughout the community.
1. "Threats to unleash attacks upon all of US interests throughout globe."
2. "Announcement to share Nuclear Technology with associates."
3. "Open declarations towards the demise of Israel and the West."
The Iranian Regime's threats and costs to the community have been a discredit; but yet they continue to fail to address the world community...
Will the Iranian U.N. ambassador's nuke proposal serve to defuse this?
NEW: Iran's Ambassador plans potential US arrival of Iran's President; Interviews with Time Magazine; and responds to UN with suggestion :
"Iran could agree that its nuclear facilities, including all of its uranium enrichment plants, could be jointly owned by an international consortium. All countries with concerns, including the U.S., could participate in that consortium."
Ambassador Zarif continues to say...
"Their people and other foreign nationals could come and go to work at the facilities, which would allow for the best type of monitoring." Zarif said the consortium would provide built-in monitoring, which from Iran's perspective would be less intrusive than inspectors, Time reported.
"It is an issue of respect," Zarif told Time. "Of course you are monitoring as you do this, but you are doing it with respect as owners and operators." Full story.
Putin media decree arouses press freedom worries
Raf Shakirov, dismissed editor of the Izvestiya daily said:
"This is an attempt to put everything under control, not only electronic media, but also personal data about people such as bloggers."
President Vladimir Putin has decreed the creation of a new super-agency to regulate media and the Internet, sparking fears among Russian journalists of a bid to extend tight publishing controls to the relatively free Web.
Putin signed a decree to create one entity that will license broadcasters, newspapers and Web sites and oversee their editorial content.
Raf Shakirov, who was dismissed as editor of the Izvestiya daily after critical coverage of the 2004 Beslan school siege, tells REUTERS how Putin's decree could extend Soviet-style controls to Russia's online media, which have been relatively free to date.
Safety Concerns of Iraqi Judge Abdel
It was crimes against humanity for Saddam Hussein... But will it require permanent asylum for the Iraqi Judge, Raouf Abdel Rahman?
2. 8 . 07 Muhammad Hamed- Reut
Judge Rahhman (chair of his court) carried out the final sentence on Saddam, a former judge, Aouad Hamed Al To bandage, like Barzan Ibrahim Al Tikriti, half-brother of Saddam Hussein. And now, as sources say, he fears for the lives of he and his family...
According to Al Djazira television, Judge Rahhman required asylum in mid-December, after having gone with family to Great Britain; via tourism visa. Definite right time to have considered that extended visa! :|
The request is studied by the Home Office; though (presently) no statement was given by British and Iraqi authorities... #
They'll Choose Your Candidate Edits!
This post was brought to you by cell phone! God Bless our election process, Freedom of Speech, and even those "fools" who insist upon favorable news.
I will never forget a press incident in May of 2006, at which a Western political 'left' news agency was banned by Iran, for using "fair and factual" news reporting... But this ban was lifted, after meeting Iran's demand for retraction, and apology...
Democrats enabled one of the world's worst freedoms of speech abusers to set precedent for America's News reporting...
The irony of this interview was its failure to consider (or mention) that this was the month when the Iranian regime "removed" thousands of Iranians from the internet, while threatening, fining, harassing, flogging, and handing down 15 year sentences to fellow journalists! Not a single word or consideration for the kind of message this might have sent, to ALL concerned...
Whomever is to represent the American people in 2008... They must consider the whole picture... The "unedited" picture...The Freedoms of Iranians...The Freedoms of the Iraqis... And of 'you'...And of me.
And after viewing the MANY interviews such as the one above; and viewing the world message of the Democrat's priorities; I don't get that this is true...
If a group is going to decide (for you) whether or not you need "selective edits" to guarantee fair reporting (both pre-and post-election)...We are one step closer to living the plight, of the Dear imprisoned Iranians.
The King Calls on US for Historic Role
“Your responsibility today is paramount"...
"Your potential to help Palestinians and Israelis find peace is unrivalled,” The King said. "The peoples of the region still regard the United States as “the key to peace, the one country most capable of bringing the two sides closer together, holding them accountable and making a just settlement reality.” #
(Jordan.jo) - King Abdullah 3.8.07
“We look to you to play a historic role,” he said, adding that results were needed “not next year, not in five years, but this year.”
In a uniquely humbling speech in Washington D.C on Wednesday; King Abdullah called on the US to accomplish this “historic” role in the Middle East, by helping Palestinians and Israelis achieve peace...
King urges US to play ‘historic’ role in region
"Thirteen years later, that work is still not completed. And until it is, we are all at risk. We are all at risk of being victims of further violence resulting from ideologies of terror and hatred. It is our greatest and most urgent duty to prevent such dangers to our region, to your country and to the world.
The choice is ours: An open world full of promise, progress and justice for all; or a closed world of divided peoples, fear and unfulfilled dreams. Nothing impacts this choice more than the future of peace in the Middle East...
I come to you today at a rare, and indeed historic, moment of opportunity, when there is a new international will to end the catastrophe. And I believe that America, with its enduring values, its moral responsibility, and yes, its unprecedented power, must play the central role." Read full speech
DNA, Evolution, and the H5N1
I'm inclined to see the world a little differently than most people do… The world's typical train of thought is: “What’s wrong.” And my first reaction is..... “How is this world trying to balance itself.”
It is interesting to note that scientists are conducting independent tests of the H5N1 flu; as many countries continue to struggle to contain its spread.
Hanoi: Khnam- 07
Le virus de la grippe aviaire aux portes d'Hanoi
As Dr. H continues his tests which reveal this virus as a direct result of a shift in DNA (within the species itself). This DNA mutation seems to be as predominate as its “transfer from bird-to-bird.” One only need examine the roots of DNA shift, in order to view the pre-evolution of the 'former-migrating' species (above)
Bringing us to the age old question...
Q: Where did the chicken come from? A: It's found in the egg! :D
As we view a shift in earth magnetism, with flight patterns of species of DNA bird migration... One might, perhaps, view this as a fast-track evolution of the species... More (as was mentioned in an earlier post)
Political Trial Manages Conviction
Libby trial produces interesting feedback...
View: VIDEO: Juror convicts, yet prefers a pardon.
Ann Coulter's : Shooting Elephants in a Barrel
Ask anyone who has been handed down a conviction as a result of a "hauntingly driven" Political trial... Your life is hell, fate uncertain, & at the mercy of whatever suits the agenda of the witch hunt... You're out!
A sad and tragic end to a long and distinguished career, and profound dedication as a public servant of our country? Or just a trial which deviated away from principal, amidst the many witnesses who lied under oath, yet still managed a felony conviction... Without an illegal action!
Most troubling, was a Juror's conviction vote, which (after-the-fact) preferred a Libby pardon! This would have been the one circumstance, by which a nullification would have been appropriate; and the power to 'fail to convict' a right, responsibility, and option of all jurors...
~~~~~~~~
Interesting quick facts from my Liberty Friends:
The first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, instructed jurors in the 1794 case of Georgia v. Brailsford:
"You have, nevertheless, a right to take upon yourselves to judge of both, and to determine the law as well as the fact in controversy."
And the 1972 DC Court of Appeals, U.S. v. Dougherty observed that:
"The pages of history shine on instances of the jury's exercise of its prerogative to disregard uncontradicted evidence and instructions from the judge. Most often commended are the 18th century acquittal of John Peter Zenger of seditious libel "the case that gave Americans our freedom of the press" and the 19th century acquittals in prosecutions under fugitive slave laws."

Coulter, and Maher … Oh my!
The Captain posts this, from the juror:
Libby Juror: Please Reverse Us
“I would like him to get” a pardon from Bush, Redington said. “It kind of bothers me that there was this whole big crime being investigated and he got caught up in the investigation as opposed to in the actual crime that was supposedly committed.”...

Militant Strain, with Press Reaction

Looks almost as if "thugs in the streets" have (temporarily) become status-quo... Suicide jihadists fill government seats, hoping to vilify the Free World's efforts towards Liberty & diversity. Reminiscent of 'heartless cheers' (post 9-11.)

America's sons and daughters continue to fight with vision of a secure, safe, Modern World. Our soldiers know well that their fight for Freedoms for the oppressed will NEVER be in vain. Freedom remains the pulse of mankind!
(And soon to be 'replacement' for the exaggerated act, below! :)
"Car bombings and Bullet Sprays."
I wonder if attacks and revolts need an appointment with the press... This group of militants (pining for Press Attention) prepare for press interview.
"We're Militants of Al-Aqsa martyrs; a militia related to Fatah," they tell press.

I can't see how any Religion of man's higher spirit, would promote this...It appears to be a script they play, as Man... 'Further harm to poor & oppressed.'
Violent scripture may increase aggression-study

Terror & Narcotics: An Inseperatable War

Concerning Afghanistan, and today's fight for stability...
There's a popular belief that the "ROOT" cause of terrorism is “fighting terrorism,” and that "The US has upset the region"...But a closer look at the resurgence and increased formation of Terror groups in and surrounding Afghanistan, reveals the "REAL ROOT" of this formation...

Yes, we've made tremendous progress in the stop of al Qaeda funding by Islamic charities and family fortune... But now, if the people are to be free from the treachory of the Taliban, and retain their government...
"Terror Funding through Afghanistan's Opium Poppy Trade, must go."
Click-Image-view interactive map of drug travel
UPDATE: This in the News today:
U.N. forsees Afghan poppy harvest boom
These fields keep the Terror groups in fight...
"It's clear that the insurgents are deriving an income, which they use to pay salaries for their foot soldiers & to buy weapons," he said. "All of this has created quite a cancer of insurgency and illicit drug cultivation that has to be cut through in the years to come."
Lt. Gen. Mohammed Daoud Daoud, the deputy interior minister for counter-narcotics, said 8,900 acres of poppy fields have been destroyed nationwide in the past month.

The target is to destroy almost 14 times that figure -- a total of 123,550 acres -- before the harvest, which runs from April to July, from the south to the colder north. Militia-suppliers of Afghan's multi-billion dollar yearly trade of 90% of the World's Heroin, opium, have threatened a spring offensive against NATO forces...

As hundreds & thousands of US trained, Western and NATO Eradication teams work with Afghan Government to destroy fields in Taliban region... "There's more at stake than the risk of generating more recruits for the Taliban."
The Shifting allegiances Cross-border Militancy
Afghans have been known to denounce rivals or enemies as members of the Taliban for political or economic gain...One only has to look at the local power holders who feel marginalized may find themselves allied to the Taliban, at least in the short term. In some areas it's difficult to distinguish between attacks by the Taliban and those by other radical Islamic groups or individuals.
These include Hezb-e Islami, headed by former Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, or those loyal to Jalaluddin Haqqani, a former mujahideen leader who also served in the Taliban government. The situation is further complicated by a complex web of shifting allegiances, tribal, ethnic and local rivalries and feuds within Afghan society. (BBC-2006)
An eye-opening article from Bronwen Maddox at Timesonline.UK
Good and bad news from the poppy fields
He sites drug-report figures from: incb.org
-In Afghanistan, one million Afghans take heroin or opiates, including 60,000 children under 15.

- In Afghanistan in 2006, the area of poppy-farming rose to a record 165,000 hectares, a jump of 59 per cent from 2005 and more than twice the figure for 2003

- Only 6 of the country’s 34 provinces are free from illicit poppy cultivation. “The drug control situation is deteriorating.”

- A third of the Afghan economy comes from opium, and this is undermining political progress Farming of opium poppies in Pakistan is rising sharply, although it has not yet reached the heights of the early 1990s

- One new trend is the smuggling of heroin from Pakistan into China

- Afghanistan’s neighbors are experiencing soaring rates of drug abuse. Iran has the world’s highest rates of opiate abuse at 2.8 per cent of the adult population; Pakistan has 0.8 per cent In Iran, seizure of Afghan opiates increased to 350 tons in 2005, showing the steep rise in smuggling…

Figures state that in just only "one" province, Helmand; more than 40 percent of the 2006 record yield of 6,725 tons. Source

Niagara Falls 'Freeze-over' of 1911

A neighbor e-mailed several pictures from an unusual freeze of the early 19th century: "Niagara Falls Freeze-over of 1911"...(Consistent temperatures of the last 100 years, as reflected in Global Warmists' satellite climate models?)
He also sent this link: Is Global Warmingism A Cult?

And check this out...Evidently the sun is a "no fault zone" as Warmists are not willing to "further examine current Scientific Data" and dismiss:
Relate-ability concerning Sun's Effect on Earth
amidst Solar System as... 'just a coincidence'!
"In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row."
Space Weather Could Scrub Manned Mars Mission
"Eruptions in the sun's atmosphere can send blasts of radiation toward the Earth and beyond. These massive explosions are millions of times stronger than that of a nuclear bomb, and experts warn that such solar storms could jeopardize plans for a manned mission to Mars."
Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not Human,
Cause for Warming, Scientist Says

Sarkozy: Ensemble tout Devient Possible

"Together all Becomes Possible."
Presidential Candidate Nicolas Sarkozy is winning the hearts of French Society! For decades, leaderships of France have 'maintained status-quo', while setting aside difficult situations. This inevitably leads to a weakened French culture...

Not afraid to speak-out against policies, should they design to weaken; Sarkozy reflects upon the dire topics facing French Society, as a genuine statesman and defender of French culture and civilization, today...
Reut: Philippe Wojazer (3.1.07) Bordeaux
NICOLAS SARKOZY DENOUNCES EXCESSES OF ECOLOGY
Caption: Candidate Nicolas Sarkozy denounced the excesses of ecology in front of several thousands of people, at a public meeting in Bordeaux! Story
“One will not save humanity by making ecology a totalitarian ideology, which would be given for objective to release the man of civilization to return it in a wild state”...

He said, "I refuse that one summon the man to choose between the growth and the respect of the environment...I want economic progress in the respect of planet, and it is possible!"

Imagine... France is forming a healthy and protective government, right when the new US Congress seeks to control & decapitate America's protections...
~~~~~~~~
A great article by Stefan Simons :
Sarkozy's Rendezvous With Destiny
"Invoking the "faces of France" - a panorama of resistance fighters, writers and politicians - and standing up for the separation of church and state in combination with "full respect for all religions." He appealed to the rule of law and to morality - and he repeatedly referred back to the past, citing Victor Hugo, Emile Zola and George Clemenceau. The result: Sarkozy appeared as a genuine son of the grande nation...
Family, education, property, hard work, authority were his keywords. Sarkozy's ideal France is a country "where students get up when the teacher enters the room" -- a "real republic" where people are rewarded in according to merit and where "everyone has rights, but duties too." A republic of equality, but not of artificial equalizing" -Full story.
Thirst for Science: Adaptation of Species
The Natural cycle of Earth is entirely dependant upon cycles of radical renewal. And then there's the challenge of thought, that Man holds it all together... Man had best observe how species adapt to inevitable evolution!)
We've a need to clean the planet, reduce reliance on fossil fuel, while increasing alt resources i.e.: Carbon Neutral Methane Energy Production from Hydrate Deposits. Man's hope; but not an alter of Earth's evolution.
Caption: Leif the Lucky Bridge between continents in Reykjanes peninsula, southwest Iceland across the Alfagja rift valley, the boundary of the "shifting" Eurasian and North American continental tectonic plates!#
Considering that collisions of converging plates have the force to lift the sea floor to great heights; and has done so throughout the ages of man's absence; anything beyond cleaner air, and efficient resources; I find it egotistical, and pompous, to give man credit for evolution of the species! :D
But hey, before acceptance of plate tectonics, geology in particular was:
Trapped in a "pre-Copernican" box :/
View Pre-Copernican View of the Universe.
Interesting discoveries, in a region of our Earth as it continues to seed the changes of evolution brought forth in the shifting of these tectonic plates.
20 New Ocean Species Found in Indonesia
"The survey by the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, or CSIRO, represents the first in-depth look at Indonesia's sharks and rays since Dutch scientist Pieter Bleeker described more than 1,100 fish species from 1842-60. #
I suggest that "biodiversity" be defined not as how it related to communication, but how it relates to the biological diversity of the species... We must examine the adaptability of these merging species and how 'they are what they are' due to a span thousands of years in preparation; and not entirely due to a window of man's actions ;) Only then, can man adequately chart and map a direction toward quality of his stay...in evolution.
And check out the biodiversity during the Phanerozoic Eon!
"The Phanerozoic (occasionally Phanaerozoic) Eon is the period of geologic time during which abundant animal life has existed. It covers roughly 545 million years and goes back to the time when diverse hard-shelled animals first appeared."
~~~~~~~~
Little Note:
One only has to take note of such Doctors as: Archeologist & Physicist, Dr. H; and the remarkable genius of Dr. and Author, Michael Crichton; to appreciate their thirst for an applied reality and Sound Scientific Knowledge, today.

They are the brilliant sets of futurists, who continue to splash their insights, for a total picture; on the canvas of our little (yet enormous) Earth...
~~~~~~~~
UPDATE: Check out these unique life forms that can convert the energy-rich chemicals into living matter in the absence of any sunlight! Found in the seabed where methane or hydrogen sulphide gas escape from stores deep underneath...Like hydrothermal vents, the gases support them.
