Thirst for Science: Adaptation of Species

The Natural cycle of Earth is entirely dependant upon cycles of radical renewal. And then there's the challenge of thought, that Man holds it all together... Man had best observe how species adapt to inevitable evolution!)
We've a need to clean the planet, reduce reliance on fossil fuel, while increasing alt resources i.e.: Carbon Neutral Methane Energy Production from Hydrate Deposits. Man's hope; but not an alter of Earth's evolution.

Considering that collisions of converging plates have the force to lift the sea floor to great heights; and has done so throughout the ages of man's absence; anything beyond cleaner air, and efficient resources; I find it egotistical, and pompous, to give man credit for evolution of the species! :D
But hey, before acceptance of plate tectonics, geology in particular was:
Trapped in a "pre-Copernican" box :/

Interesting discoveries, in a region of our Earth as it continues to seed the changes of evolution brought forth in the shifting of these tectonic plates.
20 New Ocean Species Found in Indonesia
"The survey by the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, or CSIRO, represents the first in-depth look at Indonesia's sharks and rays since Dutch scientist Pieter Bleeker described more than 1,100 fish species from 1842-60. #
I suggest that "biodiversity" be defined not as how it related to communication, but how it relates to the biological diversity of the species... We must examine the adaptability of these merging species and how 'they are what they are' due to a span thousands of years in preparation; and not entirely due to a window of man's actions ;) Only then, can man adequately chart and map a direction toward quality of his stay...in evolution.
And check out the biodiversity during the Phanerozoic Eon!
"The Phanerozoic (occasionally Phanaerozoic) Eon is the period of geologic time during which abundant animal life has existed. It covers roughly 545 million years and goes back to the time when diverse hard-shelled animals first appeared."

Little Note:
One only has to take note of such Doctors as: Archeologist & Physicist, Dr. H; and the remarkable genius of Dr. and Author, Michael Crichton; to appreciate their thirst for an applied reality and Sound Scientific Knowledge, today.

They are the brilliant sets of futurists, who continue to splash their insights, for a total picture; on the canvas of our little (yet enormous) Earth...

UPDATE: Check out these unique life forms that can convert the energy-rich chemicals into living matter in the absence of any sunlight! Found in the seabed where methane or hydrogen sulphide gas escape from stores deep underneath...Like hydrothermal vents, the gases support them.
