Also tragic, but important to note... President Uribe's father was assassinated by the FARC Rebels... which later brought the Colombian President forward to the aid of his country...

"I found her a capable woman. She had the right questions on Afghanistan. She was concerned and she said how she can help," Karzai said after the meeting at a Manhattan hotel. more.Karzai and Palin discussed security problems in Afghanistan, including cross-border attacks from fighters in Pakistan and the need for more US troops in Afghanistan.
