Jagger- Respect For China

A reticent middle-class student at London School of Economics-
[Private: Lex-79 UK]
-soon became an irreverent rock hero, adored by millions...
Then: power of reinvention - Now: tremendous vivacity, has helped Jagger's career, span nearly five decades!...It's also told that the girlfriend (seated next to him, above) curbed his expenses...

Having cancelled two tours in 2003 (due to SARS scare)...
The Stones are scheduled: April 8; Shanghai -'A Bigger Bang' tour

Prior to 2003, they had run afoul with China's culture commissars, as were told (by the Chinese Ministry of Culture) not to perform four songs - Let's Spend the Night Together, Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Women and Beast of Burden.
____________

"This time, they also probably will not play those songs," a company employee surnamed Gu told a news agency..."They know there are differences between Chinese and Western cultures. They don't want to do anything against the Chinese government," she said.

~Note:: In the late 1970s, they held high-level talks about touring China, but those were the days when the country feared spiritual pollution from the West and plans were never laid.
