Fruity Breakfast Toast

(Serves 5)

~Note: One can always prepare a lower fat version.
This recipe provides the perfect carbs for 3 hours on the ski slopes!
(Also easy to prepare at 6:am for a group of house guests.)

One bakery loaf, of non-sliced bread (10 to 12 inch)
6 ounces of cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons strawberry jam
1/2 cup sliced and diced strawberries
1 large banana
~2 dozen whole strawberries and 1/4 lb of blueberries (optional)

3/4 cup of milk
3 tablespoons butter (or margarine)
8 eggs lightly beaten

First: Cut the chilled bakery loaf into five (2 inch) slices.
Make a slit by cutting each slice almost to the bottom.

Second: Mash the cream cheese, jam, diced strawberries, and banana in a small bowl; to make filling.

Third: In a oblong and shallow bowl, beat eggs and milk. Add bread and let it stand long enough to absorb a coating, then flip it over and also coat.

Last: Heat 2 tablespoons of butter (or margarine) in a large skillet over medium heat. Fill the skillet with as many pieces as will fit. likewise, turn and cook the other side. When you remove (on platter) place in warmer, until the remainder pieces are done...
~(Family or friends will have awaken from the wonderful aroma!)

Tip 1: If desired, begin preparing this breakfast by warming light maple syrup on very low heat, as you make the coffee.

Tip 2: Place whole strawberries/blueberries around dish before serving.
