Nestled high up in the Rocky Mountains at seven thousand feet, is my favorite Winter Wonderland Resort, Steamboat Springs. This year-round Resort is known throughout the globe, simply as: "Ski Town USA®!"
The most recent celebration that I had had the pleasure of visiting, was Steamboat's 100-year Anniversary. Unlike any other annual ski festival, this was an extraordinary collection of races, jubilant feasts, music, and Cheers! Those attending were locals, many visiting ski enthusiasts, and ski champions of then and now.
FACT 1: No other town in North America has produced more winter Olympians than Steamboat Springs... (a record 54 and counting.)
FACT 2: In this ultimate micro-climate, Meteorologists measured the "Steamboat's Champagne Powder" (a phrase they patented) and found it to have 70 per cent less moisture content than average snow!
