The captain assured all that it was only a problem of machinery, which was not true because under the keel had burst one hundred meters...
A floating temple of entertainment, reduced to rubble...


The Costa Concordia was sailing from port Civitavecchia near Rome, to make Mediterranean cruise bound for Marseille and ports in Sicily, Sardinia and Spain...

As the ship’s 1,000 crew members patiently waited for the safe departure & rescue of over 3,100 passengers, before they could exit from harms way.
