Harnessing of fusion power (known as "fusion ignition") has been 5 decades research in the US... A milestone 'game-changer' energy evolution, for all.

UPDATE: We have to remember that alternatives could take years; and there should be no delusion as to the challenges we all face... Balance should be sought, and I believe that oil producers have a part in energy efficiency...

We can all find benefit in working together, and are:

ABOUT: LLNL technology has supplied the seed for other large glass laser efforts in the United States, including the Omega laser at the University of Rochester in New York and the Z-Beamlet laser now at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM. Lasers in Japan, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and other countries around the world also use LLNL-developed technology...

The last of the National Ignition Facility's 192 beams were installed in 2009, NIF offers unique capabilities, including the most energy of any laser facility in the world...

PERSONAL NOTES: We must encourage improvement toward energy efficiency, through incentives & rewards for innovation, rather than penalties; if we are to see a rise in sustainable and independent quality of life... For this, it will take a smaller less Bureaucratic Government, and a more participant society, to prevent the stifle of scientific advancement...

I suspect that we are at least 500 years behind on technology...
Over-stepping Government controls and wars are a "repeat theme."
