American Flag Day June 14th...
A true American is stead-fast and loyal; and this shall never be set aside... A true American is not afraid of words, votes, or religion... Or to be disliked, or ridiculed for their effort to retain the right for (you or I) to express freely...
It was heroes like the one (June 14, 1811 - July 1, 1896)
Harriet Beecher Stowe was an American author and abolitionist, whose novel Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852) attacked the cruelty of slavery... Reaching millions with her novel and play; she highlighted the need to address such injustices... And this led to its abolishment.
She became influential, the world over... Yes, she was criticised, and blamed... And it was likely that she was not fully appreciated... But she stood for the promise that Mankind need not settle upon cowering to find their way...
And even today, in this very moment; America's greatest treasure is promise...
