IRAN: Sabotage & the Mullah Wars

04-07-06 Update from Jay at Stop the aclu,
unfortunately confirms:
Iranian missiles can carry nukes
This updates the report from Andy Oppenheimer
(a weapons expert at Jane's Information Group)
who confirms that accuracy is still a factor..

"But we don't know how accurate the Iranians are able to make
their missiles yet, and this is a crucial point," Oppenheimer said.
"If the missile is adaptable for nuclear warheads, then they are well on the way," he added. "But they have not made a nuclear warhead yet... (More below)

Iranian commander, Rear Admiral Morteza Saffari, has deployed unmanned airplanes that will collect intelligence about the enemy, and deploy anti-air missiles to attack targets. These war exercises (naval war games) till April 6th, are in participation with Iran's regular Navy and air Force, missiles force, five IRGC naval garrisons, the Bassij, and the State Security Forces.

As missiles are pointed to attack targets, interpreted as an offensive
strike, the likelihood of triggering an unintended attack, is difficult
to determine… Relatively new in development...Read below.

Article excerpt:
"In the event of an enemy launch, a single interceptor equipped with the Multiple Kill Vehicle payload system will destroy the enemy lethal reentry vehicle, along with any countermeasures deployed, to try and spoof the missile defense system. This many-on-many strategy reduces the need for extensive pre-launch intelligence and leverages the Ballistic
Missile Defense System discrimination capability"...

I see danger in the straight with Iran's "mullah war" which have clashed with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Additionally, with the sectarianism and series of deadly attacks on troops in southern Iraq which lead back to Iran and the militant group Hezbollah. The most important question :

Can Iran trust their own Regime? ~M.B.
Someone attacked province of Khuzestan...It was not Britain..

The change of the guards...

Who shifted Iran's military regime of 12-13 elite
officers and Brigadier Generals on Jan 9th?

Killed: 12 top elite officers, Brigadier Generals, put in place in 79-80
For thirty six years, these elite commanders were in place and “protecting and propagating the Islamic revolution.”

Ahmadinejad who was once a Revolutionary commander, himself... has now appointed hundreds of high level commanders to senior government positions.. In fact a day ahead of the crash, they were reshuffling their military cabinet.

Cause of the crash: One site reports bad weather, fuel shortage, another... equipment failure, and failure on both engines. With the elite IRGC aboard, the most carefully maintained craft would be expected.

Could this passenger-cargo plane carrying military and journalists - Dec. 06 ( shortly before the above accident) have also been sabotaged?
~NOTE: The flight recorder of the plane was confiscated”
by Basij Forces.

Andy Oppenheimer, a weapons expert at Jane's Information Group, said the missile test could be an indication that Iran has MIRV capability. MIRV refers to multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles, which are intercontinental ballistic missiles with several warheads, each of which could be directed to a different target.

"From the description, it could be a MIRV. If you are saying that from a single missile, separate warheads can be independently targeted then yes, this is significant," he said.
"But we don't know how accurate the Iranians are able to make their missiles yet, and this is a crucial point," Oppenheimer said.
"If the missile is adaptable for nuclear warheads, then they are well on the way," he added. "But they have not made a nuclear warhead yet. The current estimates are it could take five years."
